I’m Ivo, PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor freelancer.
I deal with the training of divers at any level: from first breath underwater to professional degrees. Whether it is basic training or continuous education, I use the quality and reliability of the PADI Educational System, the undisputed world leader in underwater training.
Passion, seriousness, dedication and commitment are the characteristics that best express my modus operandi in the field of diving. Guaranteed fun and top priority for maximum safety.
The element of water has always been an integral part of my life. My love for the sea dates back to when I was only seven months old, but it is from the age of three that my father Elio taught me to swim and immerse myself in free diving. I loved to follow my father during his fish-hunting trips, get away from the noisy beach and dive deep in the silence of the ocean. Each time it was an indescribable feeling of freedom to swim in a sea full of colorful fish, starfish…
The Scuba Diving Licence
With the right maturity, respect and awareness about the beauty of the ocean and the pitfalls that can hide, in 2012 I enrolled in my first diving course. I immediately deepened the basic skills, always diving in different conditions and increasing difficulty, until obtaining the P ** CMAS / FISASUB diver’s licence with the Instructor Domenico Velotto and the direction of the Instructor Pasquale Di Lorenzo, President of “S. Erasmo” Diving Center of Naples.
Driven by a strong enthusiasm, I continued diving training accumulating an increasing number of experiences and, after a hard but amusing course, here is the Rescue Diver CMAS / FIPSAS licence obtained with the Federal Instructor Rossella Brivio, President of A.S.D. “Algabranchia“ of Naples.
The leadership’s path
In 2013 I decided to embark on the training path for the professional career of diving through the internship for PADI Divemaster. I was chosen by “TGI Diving Sorrento srl” of Instructors Rosy Laudati, Gianluigi Di Maio and Edoardo Ruspantini based at the Punta Campanella Diving Center in Massa Lubrense (NA) and operating also in Bacoli (NA) based at SuBaia – Campania Divers. The internship lasted seven months. Many dives in Sorrento Coast and the islands of Capri, Ischia, Procida, the lessons learned through the over-ten-years-experienced instructors, the theoretical and practical exercises and the profuse efforts. So, in the end of the summer season, I get certified PADI Divemaster and DSD Leader.
Rise through the ranks
I continue another year as a permanent collaborator at the aforementioned dive centers, alternating between the fantastic depths of the Sorrento Coast defended by the Protected Marine Area of “Punta Campanella”, the underwater Roman ruins of the Archeological Marine Parks of Baia and Gaiola and the islands of Ischia and Procida preserved by the Protected Marine Area of “Regno di Nettuno”.
The first goal
In October 2014 I took part at the PADI Instructor Development Course at the island of Ventotene (LT), under the direction of the Course Director Massimo Casabianca [CD-901766]. At the end of October, the Instructor Examination held by the Course Director Marco Giovannini [CD-619790] at the island of Ponza (LT) is passed with big satisfaction and I am recognized for all purposes as PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor. In that occasion I also got the licences of Specialty Instructor for Enriched Air, Deep, Dry Suit, Wrek, Emergency Oxigen Provider, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Project AWARE® and AWARE-Coral Reef Conservation.
Trasferimento in Norvegia
In October 2015 I moved to Oslo, the capital of Norway, for work purposes, totally changing my life but continuing to cultivate my deepest passion and working as a freelancer for Oslofjorden Dykkesenter, a PADI Five Star Instructor Development Center.
The pleasure of the memories
When I have some free time I delight myself with digital underwater photography in order to bring some nice memories at home from my solo-dives. Sometimes I also take part to photography competitions. You can have a look to some of my shots taken in the Gulf of Naples on this website.
